The Yooper Lodge
In The Twin Lakes Area
of Houghton County
We are in Houghton County of the Upper Peninsula. Our goal is to provide the area with a place for a group to stay without paying a fortune. We can handle from 1 to 26! Check out the Lodge, Bungalow and the Cabin.
The Yooper Lodge is a great place to stay for your U.P. vacation! It has a fully equipped kitchen including coffee, all you need to bring is the food you like to eat. The breakfast nook is a great place to play games in the evening. The livingroom has a hide-a-bed sofa, satellite TV/VCR and movies. The diningroom has a large table by a picture window. There is a sunroom for storing your jackets etc. Also in the lodge are cards, games, puzzles and books. Upstairs are 4 comfy bedrooms ready made for your great nights sleep. The lodge sleeps up to14 people. "The Cubby" has 1 double bed , "The Bears Den" has 1 double bed and 3 twin beds, "Whitetail Haven" has 1 double bed & 1 twin bed, "The Moose Room" has 3 twin beds (can be made into a King bed). There are 2 full bathrooms, one up and one down stairs, both have shampoo and soap as well as towels etc.
The lodge is on 8 acres of wooded land.
The lodge is located right in the middle of tourist sightseeing. We have a great tourist sight-seeing book in the lodge for your guide. You can take a day trip in all directions from the lodge and see and do things like play golf, swim, ski, snowshoe, hike, bike, boat, fish, hunt and shop. Also you can check out the other sights. There are mine tours, the unique town of Copper Harbor, Fort Wilkins, Brockway Drive, light houses, historical buildings, the mystery of the Paulding Light, MTU University, casinos and theatres. Houghton/Hancock lift bridge, MTU-mineralogical exhibit & museum, golf courses, State Parks, Beaches, really neat-old train trestles. There are festivals, with parades, fireworks and activities winter and summer. Bridgefest, Winter Carnival with ice statues, Strawberry festival and of course the Houghton County Fair.
Nature offers much beauty also, there are Twp, County and State parks, Porcupine Mountains, scenic drives, lush greens of spring and summer, fall colors, Lake Superior, many inland lakes, fabulous waterfalls, wildlife-bears, deer, rabbits, coons, blue herons and eagles are a few.
An absolute must for vacationers! Something for everyone to enjoy!
You need to come to the U.P. at least once in your life, you will not be disappointed!
